My dear Italian friends, sorry but I got a vegan pizza.

This pizza is one of the best I ever made, I firstly love to cook easy and quick, that's how it works to me.

Nevertheless, nobody wants a pizza recipe that is difficult to follow or takes hours for the dough to rise.

Right?

Not fun! LOL

So, this Vegan Pizza Recipe will put the fun back in pizza making. It’s so easy to make and will be on your table in just one hour (or less). Sounds fun ist'n it? Let's do this.

Easy Vegan Pizza / Una Simple Pizza Vegana

Serve 2 to 4

Dough

  • 3 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoon dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 cup warm water

Sauce

  • 2 cans tomato sauce (organic when possible)

  • 1 teaspoon of salt (to taste)

  • 1 clove of garlic (mince)

  • 1/2 tsp each dried or fresh basil, oregano, garlic powder, granulated sugar

Toppings

  • Vegan cheese (use as you wish)

  • 2 cup of mushrooms (chopped)

  • 1 eggplant (chopped)

  • 2 zucchini (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup each red, green, and orange bell pepper (loosely chopped)

  • 1/3 cup red onion (chopped)

  • 1 cup of spinach

METHOD:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (218 C)

In a large bowl, pour in the warm water, sugar and yeast. Cover with a lid and set aside for 7 to 10 minutes while you prepare the dry ingredients.

Combine the flour, salt, and seasonings in another bowl. Once the yeast has gotten frothy pour in the olive oil and mix.

Slowly start incorporating the dry ingredients little by little.

Mix well with a spatula or wooden spoon until it comes together well. Cover with a lid and let it set for about 1 hour.

Punch down the dough. Carefully stretch the dough little by little on the table, spark some flour if needed, in particular I divide into 4. I personally love the base very thin but you can make it as you desire.

Spread some vegan butter and dust the mold with flour so you can spread your dough easily.

Using a spoon, spread the sauce evenly over the pizza then place the rest of the toppings as you desire.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. The pizza cooks fast so keep an eye on it.

TIP

Add the spinach when pizza is out of the oven otherwise it will shrink and cook quick.

Add more water if needed when you're preparing the dough.

Make sure the water is warm, but not too hot or it won't work.  Add any topping as you desire.
